20 Skills to be charismatic

Some believe that a charismatic personality is a gift that we are born with, such as physical traits or DNA that cannot be created or developed. Still, the truth is that charisma can be invented with some skills that are acquired, developed, and preserved.

The question is, how do I have charisma?

Some of the skills that make you charismatic:

 1-Be yourself.

The charismatic person is genuine in his dealings with the world; he does not imitate anyone, deals honestly with others, and admits his mistakes or weaknesses without fear of others’ opinions.

 2- Eye contact.

Charismatic person always makes eye contact when talking to others because eye contact with others makes them feel that the person is paying attention to them.

  3- Maintain a skill for listening.

The charismatic person  Listening well to people without interrupting them during the conversation because distracts those who speak. Whoever interrupts the conversation often thinks about himself more than he thinks about others.

 4- Realizing others’ points of view.

The ability to see things from different perspectives and understand how others feel makes them feel that you care about them and are present with them.

 5-Be encouraging and inspiring.

Evaluating and understanding others’ feelings praising their ‘ successes, and raising their spirits make your presence worthwhile and effective.

 6- Self-confidence.

Self-confidence makes your outfit appearance elegant, not exaggerated, and also not sub-standard keeping calm in any discussions, and persistence in presenting ideas and assuming responsibilities that are entrusted to you.

 7 -“Be conscious and accountable for your decisions.”

Your awareness of what suits you in your life and what you find right in your decisions regardless of the opinions of others and your tolerance for the result of what you did build up your charisma.

 8- Communication skills.

The ability to communicate deeply with others regarding their interests with adequate and appropriate words for the situations and understand their reactions, and behavior, and the ability to open dialogue or discussions with them.

 9 -Stop making excuses.

The charismatic person bears the result of his actions and ideas, confesses his mistakes if they happen, and has no problem facing challenges.

 10- Do not judge others.

A person with charisma does not underestimate others and knows that he does not benefit him in anything. On the contrary, he raises their status and is satisfied with his personality and performance.

 11-Do not compare.

The charismatic person does not compete with anyone but himself and strives for development and progress that suits his life and circumstances.

 12-Hold back your opinions and refrain from sharing them..

 The Charismatic states his opinions without feeling embarrassed; even the others disagree or conflict with his opinions because he realizes the extent of his freedom and belief value.

 13- Daily planning.
 Preparing with daily plans for what you want to accomplish in your life. Also, having an alternate method for what may surprise you in your life.

 14-Feel free to disregard the unfavorable views of others.
Ignoring criticism and striving for self-improvement is key.

 15- Positivity.
An upbeat personality in thinking, seeing, or interacting with others is the most charismatic and influential person because a positive speech always shows your power and charisma.

 16- The level of your voice in speaking.

When you talk in a steady voice, not low or high, it gives the impression of stability and confidence in your conversation with others.

 17 – Body language.

Self-esteem, satisfaction with the shape of your body, peace, calm and Quiet moves, a steadfast gaze, and sympathetic words are the characteristics of a charismatic person.

 18-Have a good sense of humor.
Having fun and having a sense of humor makes you an influence on others so spending time with you is enjoyable. The smile has a magical effect on your charismatic appearance in front of others because it reflects inner peace.

 19-Stop giving away your advice.

 Keep your advice and experiences, do not present them unless asking you for advice or expertise, as most people are alienated from the advising people because it makes them feel inferior and lacks experience.

 20- Maintain your principles

The charismatic person has principles that he does not change according to the situation. He does not accept to compromise his principles or for any person to transgress his boundaries with him, as he can clarify himself and bear his convictions.


We cannot deny that charisma can be a natural gift for some people, but we can also develop it within ourselves through education, personal growth, and psychological development. Charisma is your unique presence that cannot be imitated, shining in the world around you. If you lose your charisma, you may feel invisible among people, but if you want to have a unique presence among others and prove your worth to the world, it’s important to cultivate your charisma.
