Self-sabotage protocol
The self-sabotage snare is an explanation for understanding why we feel compelled to act against our interests. It occurs when the unhappy experiences in our lives are more familiar than the happy ones. It makes us shy away from the positive things in life (including health and happiness) and consider these feelings alien to us.
We all prefer the familiar because it is comfortable and safe for the subconscious mind.
Unconsciously, intimacy and emotional security are closely related and familiarity overcomes happiness even if misery is the price we pay. The trap of self-sabotage turns somewhat into an alternate reality Where all the signals from our mind lead us to more self-sabotage. First, the feelings we feel in the snare are real fear.
Inside the snare
- If fear makes you avoid something good for you, it points you in the wrong direction and makes doing the right thing more complicated; it makes you feel it’s scary to do what’s best for you.
Outside the snare
- The fear is real, too. However, we interpret the concerns differently. It turns into an incentive to prepare well and live life.
- If you fear something, prepare for it.
The self-sabotage snare is so altering our world that these solutions seem undesirable. The only “solution” is inside the trap, and you end up feeling like you are
